Prayers of the People

Lord of all creation, open our eyes that we might see you, open our ears that we might hear you, open our hearts that we might see and hear you in all those around us. Help us to open our hearts to those who are struggling – whether they are close at hand or far away, whether they are struggling physically or emotionally, whether we find them congenial or difficult to like.

Help us to open our hands to those who need our assistance – whether they are close at hand or far away.

Help us to open our mouths to encourage and support those who need encouragement or support – whether they are close at hand or far away.

Help us to love those who are near to us and those who are far away.

Today we especially remember:

Open our ears and our eyes, our hearts and our hands that we might hear and see you, that we might love and help those whom you love. May we help you to build your kingdom in this world.
